Senator Hitler,
I mean US Senator Judd Gregg has proposed tighter restrictions on the use of encryption software.
Senator,
I can not believe that you, a Republican, (on paper anyway) would recommend requiring software developers such as myself to give the keys to the Government for encryption software!
Sir, you are nuts!
You may as well arrest me right now, because I will not do it!
Laws like this will only force everyone to use tax free versions!
I am fully behind the war effort! But this is not going to stop people from using software they have. Nor is it going to give you keys for software that is already out there.
Why is it law makers always assume that anything can be fixed with new laws?
I think they probably broke a couple of existing laws by flying planes into buildings and killing allot of people, don't you?
If you would like to encourage something useful, don't make new laws to crack down on software developers. I would suggest you get some better hackers and programmers working for the good guys.
