And in other news....
One only needs to turn on the TV or Radio anywhere in the country to realize that we have some major problems. But wait!!! Do we really have the problems you hear about on the news shows? Is the world really as screwed up as we are told? According to our professional, accurate, and complete news media, you bet it is! Is the opinion of Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, and Barbara Walters more important than your own? I hope not!
I would love to see and hear REAL news again. I mean news that happens because it happens. All of the anchors on TV assume that the listeners are on their side of every story. I remember when you couldn't tell what side an anchor was on. I guess professional news organizations truly are a thing of the past. Even NPR and the News Hour have reached the point that I can't sit down and listen to it anymore. I don't know where or when journalists decided that it was their job to persuade!
There are some alternatives. You could watch CNN! Yeah, Right! Just kidding.
If you are in the mood for entertainment, you can always listen to Dave Ramsey, Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, or Howard Stern.
Keep in mind, you won't get anymore truth from these folks either, but they are all very entertaining in small quantities.
Rush says "If it were important I, el Rushbo, would have talked about it on the show". You talk about a hypocrite! Rush has slammed all of the mainstream media for that same thinking. Like I said, he and his show are entertainment, not educational as he would have you believe. He should be required by law to put a disclaimer out, just like the folks with the crystal balls. In all fairness, he can be quite entertaining, and very funny!
Dr. Laura would have us all be virgins until we are 28 years old! It is easy to recommend someone else waste their youth after you have enjoyed yours. But the callers she beats up on make the show worth a couple minutes of your day! Where does she find these people? You know you are going to get beat up when you call, so why are you calling? Then again, after listening to some of the callers that get on the show, I realize that we are not talking about your intellectual cream of the crop. Oh well, to each his own. She is damn funny!
Howard Stern has never said anything that I care to repeat. In fact he probably has a very sick mind! But here again, in small quantities he and his lesbian friends can be very entertaining as well. And what about that hair. The girls got to love it. Right?
All kidding aside, the news media control what we see and hear, only if we let them. I WILL NOT let them! I have tuned em' out! I would suggest that we maximize the use of the Internet. I wonder if the networks would actually get any better if we all just stopped listening to them? The only thing I want for the new year is a news story! Not hype, opinion, or conclusions. Just the facts!
We all need to tell the networks to go to hell!
